Once loyal
servants of the God-Emperor, Traitor Guardsmen are Imperial Guardsmen, who have
fallen to the lure of Chaos. Heretics in the truest sense, Traitor Guardsmen
serve the Dark Chaos Gods, bringing their knowledge of Imperial doctrine,
training and expertise to the mass ranks of Chaos.

I built
the five Traitor Guardsmen shown in this post with a Forge World conversion kit
containing the head/torso of Chaos Guardsmen and the Cadian Shock Trooper
sprue. I envisioned these heretics
coming from a desert world and selected a colour scheme to match the natural
environment of their home world. I used
two different styles of desert camouflage: one style for the combat fatigues and
the other for the chest and shoulder armour.

Old Guard: An Astra Militarum/Imperial Guard Fan Site is a website dedicated to
Games Workshop’s Warhammer 40K miniatures, with a focus on the classic range of
Imperial Guard models from the 1990s.
