The White Scout Car, known as the M3A1 Scout Car in the U.S., was an American made armoured car produced by the White Motor Company. The White Scout Car was a lightly armoured open topped four-wheel drive vehicle designed for reconnaissance. The vehicle was operated by a crew of two (driver and commander) and could carry six additional passengers. A total of 20,918 M3A1 Scout Cars were produced from 1939 to 1944.
The STL files for the White Scout Cars were downloaded from MarkeBot’s Thingiverse and designed by Foolyo89. I used a Creality Ender Pro 3 to print these models.
I 3D printed two White Scout Cars and added Plastic Soldier Company (PSC) components to the models. The specific PSC components I used are from the Loyd Carrier kit (vehicle driver and commander) and the M5 Half-track kit (Browning machine gun and side stowage). I painted the scout cars with the markings of the 12th Manitoba Dragoons (18th Armoured Car Regiment), one of two Armoured Car Regiments that severed in the Canadian Army during the Second World War.
The images below are found in the Canadian Armour II section of Citizen Soldiers: A 1/72 scale World War 2 Model Site.
Citizen Soldiers: A 1/72 scale World War 2 Model Site is devoted to the hobby of painting and collecting World War 2 models/miniatures. It is my hope, through creating this website, to honour the men and women who served in the Second World War, whose sacrifices and courage have given us the freedom and quality of life we have today.
