Nicknamed the ‘Brummbar’ (German for grouch) by Allied intelligence and the ‘Stupa’ by the Germans, the Sturmpanzer IV served as an armoured infantry support gun, providing direct infantry fire support. The Sturmpanzer IV mated the 15 cm Sturmhaubitze (StuH) 43 L/12 gun with the chassis of the Panzer IV medium tank. The production run for the Sturmpanzer IV occurred from 1943 to 1945, with some 306 Sturmpanzer IVs built.
The STL files for the Sturmpanzer IV Heavy Assault Gun were downloaded from MarkeBot’s Thingiverse and were designed by Juergen54. I used a Creality Ender Pro 3 to print this model.
I printed the components for a single Sturmpanzer IV and painted the heavy assault gun in the typical colour pattern of a late war German armoured fighting vehicle. The decals I applied to this sides of the Sturmpanzer IV identifies the vehicle’s company (first digit), platoon (middle digit) and vehicle number in the platoon (last digit). Therefore, this Sturmpanzer IV belongs is the 1st Company, 1st Platoon and is the second Sturmpanzer in the platoon.

Citizen Soldiers: A 1/72 scale World War 2 Model Site is devoted to the hobby of painting and collecting World War 2 models/miniatures. It is my hope, through creating this website, to honour the men and women who served in the Second World War, whose sacrifices and courage have given us the freedom and quality of life we have today.
