The Jagdpanzer 38(t) was a light tank destroyer that combined the modified chassis of the Czechoslovakian made Panzer 38(t) light tank with the 7.5 cm PaK 39 L/48 gun. Unofficially named the Hetzer (meaning ‘baiter’ or ‘chaser’ in German), the Jagdpanzer 38(t) became the main tank destroyer for Germany in the final year of the war. The Panzer 38(t) chassis was a reliable, easy to produce and cost-effective, which allowed the Jagdpanzer 38(t) to be produced in great numbers. The production run for the Jagdpanzer 38(t) occurred from 1944 to 1945, with over 2,800 Jagdpanzer 38(t)s produced.
The STL files for the Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer were downloaded from MarkeBot’s Thingiverse and were designed by SSBN506. I used a Creality Ender Pro 3 to print this model.
I painted the Jagdpanzer 38(t) in the colour patterns typical of a late war German vehicle. In 1943, dunkelgelb, a dark shade of yellow, became the standard base colour for German military vehicles. Brown and green paints were usually painted on the base coat to create a camouflage pattern.

Citizen Soldiers: A 1/72 scale World War 2 Model Site is devoted to the hobby of painting and collecting World War 2 models/miniatures. It is my hope, through creating this website, to honour the men and women who served in the Second World War, whose sacrifices and courage have given us the freedom and quality of life we have today.
