Death Korps of Krieg (Imperial Guard/Astra Militarum): Part 3

The Death Korps of Krieg hail from the Death World of Krieg; a scorched and radioactive wasteland, where the planet’s entire population lives in underground hive cities. Renown for their grim, uncompromising and fatalistic outlook, Death Korps of Krieg regiments are masters of siege warfare and wars of attrition.

I finished painting the first five miniatures in my second Death Korps of Krieg squad (please see part 1 and part 2 for more details) using Armageddon Steel Legion miniatures.  These miniatures include a sergeant carrying a severed Ork’s head, a rocket launcher team and two guardsmen with lasguns.  While I used The Army Painter’s field grey as the primarily colour for the previous Death Korps squad, I used brown as the primary colour for this squad.  I applied black wash over the uniforms to give the miniatures a dark and gloomy look; a tone characteristic of the grim nature of this regiment.

For more images of these miniatures, please visit the Death Korps of Krieg section of the Old Guard; a website dedicated to Games Workshop’s Warhammer 40K miniatures, with a focus on the classic range of Imperial Guard models from the 1990s.
