Phantine Skyborne (Astra Militarum/Imperial Guard)

Featured in the fifth novel (The Guns of Tanith) of the Gaunt Ghost series, the Phantine Skyborne are airborne assault regiments from the Imperial World of Phantine. Location within the Sabbat Worlds, Phantine was once an Industrial World that became so polluted that the population was forced to live in domed cities in the planet’s stratosphere. As a result of this, Plantine’s ground forces evolved into airborne assault units.

Inspired by Dan Abnette’s Gaunt’s Ghost series, I did some ‘kit bashing’ to build five Phantine Skyborne troopers using components from Wargames Atlantic’s Raumjager Infantry set, Games Workshop’s Cadian Shock Troops set, and Wargames Factory’s Shock Troopers set (this set is no longer in production).  The Phantine Skyborne are featured in 'The Guns of Tanith’, the fifth novel in the series, and takes place on the world of Phantine; a heavily polluted former industrial world, where the planet’s population is forced to live in domed cities in the stratosphere.
