I recently
finished painting two Imperial Guard miniatures: a GW metal Commissar and a
resin miniature in the likeness of Trooper ‘Try Again’ Bragg from the Gaunt’s
Ghosts series. The Commissar is one of
the last metal miniatures produced by Games Workshop, and, at the time of writing
this post, is still in production. Trooper
‘Try Again’ Bragg is a resin miniature produced by Brother Vinni’s Historical and Fantasy Miniatures.

Trooper
‘Try Again’ Bragg. ‘Try Again’ Bragg is an original member of
the Tanith First-and-Only and is described as a gentle giant of a man, whose tendency
to miss the first shot when operating heavy weapons earned him his nickname ‘Try
Again’. A man of exceptional strength,
Bragg is one of the few unaugmented humans with the strength to wield a heavy
bolter (and similar heavy weapons) single handily. Bragg is also renown for his skills at brewing
sacra, an alcoholic drink cherished by the ‘Ghosts’. ‘Try Again’ Bragg’s journey with the Tanith First-and-Only
came to an end in the fifth novel (The Guns of Tanith), when he was killed by
the traitorous Trooper Lijah ‘Fething’ Cuu.

the 1990s.
