Warhammer 40K: Trooper ‘Try Again’ Bragg & Commissar

I recently finished painting two Imperial Guard miniatures: a GW metal Commissar and a resin miniature in the likeness of Trooper ‘Try Again’ Bragg from the Gaunt’s Ghosts series.  The Commissar is one of the last metal miniatures produced by Games Workshop, and, at the time of writing this post, is still in production.  Trooper ‘Try Again’ Bragg is a resin miniature produced by Brother Vinni’s Historical and Fantasy Miniatures.

Trooper ‘Try Again’ Bragg. ‘Try Again’ Bragg is an original member of the Tanith First-and-Only and is described as a gentle giant of a man, whose tendency to miss the first shot when operating heavy weapons earned him his nickname ‘Try Again’.  A man of exceptional strength, Bragg is one of the few unaugmented humans with the strength to wield a heavy bolter (and similar heavy weapons) single handily.  Bragg is also renown for his skills at brewing sacra, an alcoholic drink cherished by the ‘Ghosts’.  ‘Try Again’ Bragg’s journey with the Tanith First-and-Only came to an end in the fifth novel (The Guns of Tanith), when he was killed by the traitorous Trooper Lijah ‘Fething’ Cuu.

For more images of these miniatures, please visit the Commissars and Gaunt’s Ghosts sections of the Old Guard; a website dedicated to Games Workshop’s Warhammer 40K miniatures, with a focus on the classic range of Imperial Guard models from the 1990s.
