Phantine Skyborne (Astra Militarum/Imperial Guard): Part 2

Featured in the fifth novel (The Guns of Tanith) of the Gaunt Ghost series, the Phantine Skyborne are airborne assault regiments from the Imperial World of Phantine. Location within the Sabbat Worlds, Phantine was once an Industrial World that became so polluted that the population was forced to live in domed cities in the planet’s stratosphere. As a result of this, Plantine’s ground forces evolved into airborne assault units.

Combining components from Wargames Atlantic’s Raumjager Infantry sprue and GW’s Cadian Shock Troopers sprue, I built six more Phantine Skyborne troopers (please see part 1 for more details).  As with the previous group of Skyborne troopers, I painted these miniatures in an Air Force inspired camouflage pattern.  The Phantine Skyborne are featured in the fifth novel (The Guns of Tanith) of the Gaunt’s Ghost series.  This novel also marks the first appearance of the Blood Pact; the professional soldiers of Archon Gaur, who are featured in most of the later novels in the series.

For more images of these miniatures, please visit the Phantine Skyborne section of the Old Guard; a website dedicated to Games Workshop’s Warhammer 40K miniatures, with a focus on the classic range of Imperial Guard models from the 1990s.
