Death Korps of Krieg (Imperial Guard/Astra Militarum): Part 1

The Death Korps of Krieg hail from the Death World of Krieg; a scorched and radioactive wasteland, where the planet’s entire population lives in underground hive cities. Renown for their grim, uncompromising and fatalistic outlook, Death Korps of Krieg regiments are masters of siege warfare and wars of attrition.

I finished painting one half of a Death Korps of Krieg squad, which includes the sergeant, an assault weapons trooper (grenade launcher) and three guardsmen with lasguns.  The models I used for the Death Korps of Krieg are Armageddon Steel Legion miniatures (first released in 1999 as part of the Armageddon campaign).  I choose dark and gloomy colours for these miniatures (reflecting the grim attitudes of these troops), and painted skull motifs on the gas masks (reflecting the fatalistic nature of the regiment).
