Welcome to the sixth and final part of Building Italeri’s Battle of Berlin Set. In part 1, I did an unboxing and examined the contents of the battle set; in part 2, I painted the T-34/85 tanks; in part 3, I painted the Panther tank and one of the German infantry sprues; in part 4, I painted the PaK40 anti-tank gun and the remaining German infantry sprue; in part 5, the painted the Berlin House and urban accessories. Now, all that is left are the Russian infantry, which will be the focus of this post.
The Battle of Berlin battle set includes two identical soft plastic sprues of Russian infantry, with 16 figures per sprue (32 in total). Each sprue contains the following:
- 9 soldiers with PPSH-41 submachine guns
- 4 soldiers with Mosin-Nagant bolt action rifles
- 1 soldier firing a DP-27 (Degtyaryov) light machine gun
- 1 soldier firing a mortar
- 1 soldier carrying a PTRD-41 anti-tank rifle.

I built and painted both sprues of Russian infantry and attached the miniatures to bases (with the exception of one 2-soldier base, I based each soldier on an individual base).

My verdict on Italeri’s Battle of Berlin battle set: I really liked this product and felt that I received my money’s worth from the battle set. For a $100 Canadian (approximately $75 American), I received the Berlin House, 2 sprues of urban accessories, 3 tanks (2 T-34/85s and 1 Panther), a PaK 40 anti-tank gun and 64 infantry miniatures (32 German and 32 Russian). The models in this set were easy to build (fast assembly tank kits), which is ideal for someone like me, who prefers painting over building complex models. The Berlin House is a huge model and an ‘eye catching’ terrain piece for the tabletop. I was so impressed with the Battle of Berlin set, that I purchased a second battle set.
