The STZ-5 Artillery Tractor was a military tractor designed specially to tow divisional and corps guns/howitzers weighing 8 tons or less. The STZ-5 was named after the factory that produced the tractor, the Stalingradsky Traktorny Zavod (Russian for ‘Stalingrad Tractor Factory’). The production run for the STZ-5 occurred from 1937 to 1942, with over 9,900 STZ-5s built, making it the most produced Soviet military tractor during the war.
The STL files for the STZ-5 Artillery Tractors were downloaded from MarkeBot’s Thingiverse and the STL files were designed by m_bergman. I used a Creality Ender Pro 3 to print this model.
I 3D printed two different STZ-5 Artillery Tractor models: A STZ-5 with an open top and one with a canopy. I applied Soviet star decals to the side doors of the tractors.
The images below are found in the Russian Armour IV section of Citizen Soldiers: A 1/72 scale World War 2 Model Site.
Citizen Soldiers: A 1/72 scale World War 2 Model Site is devoted to the hobby of painting and collecting World War 2 models/miniatures. It is my hope, through creating this website, to honour the men and women who served in the Second World War, whose sacrifices and courage have given us the freedom and quality of life we have today.
