The Canadian Military Pattern (CMP) Truck were a class of military trucks produced in large numbers and in several configurations during the Second World War. Three manufacturers in Canada, General Motors, Ford and Dodge, produced the CMP Truck. By the end of the war, over 500,000 CMP Trucks were built and were used by the British and Commonwealth militaries. The CMP Trucks, according to Britain’s official ‘History of the Second World War’, was Canada’s most important contribution to the Allied victory, as these vehicles mobilized the British Army, allowing men and equipment to cross great distances with speed. The rapid production of the CMP Truck accounted for the fact that, by the end of the war, there was a vehicle for every three British soldiers in the field; the U.S. Army, in comparison, had one vehicle for every seven soldiers in the field by the end of the war.
The STL files for the Canadian Military Pattern (CMP) Trucks were downloaded from MarkeBot’s Thingiverse and designed by m_bergman. I used the Creality Ender Pro 3 to print these models.
I 3D printed two different Canadian Military Pattern (CMP) Trucks: A truck with a canopy and one with an open back. I added Plastic Soldier Company M5 Half-track British/Commonwealth passengers to the truck with the open back. I painted both CMP trucks with the markings of the 8th Field Squadron (Royal Canadian Engineers). The 8th Field Squadron was part of the Canadian 4th Armoured Division during the Second World War.
