Warhammer 40,000 Praetorian Guard (Astra Militarum): Part 2

Raised from the heavily populated hive world of Praetoria, the Praetorian Guard are renown for their iron discipline and courage on the battlefield.  When faced with overwhelming odds, the soldiers of the Praetorian Guard will stand in perfectly formed ranks, delivering devasting volleys of las-fire against their foes.

I finished painting the remaining 5 guardsmen of my Praetorian Guard squad (please see part 1 for more details), which includes a rocket launcher team and three guardsmen with lasguns.  The Praetorian Guard, sculpted by legendary Games Workshop sculptors Michael and Alan Perry, were first released in 1997 as part of the Games Day 97 Massacre of Big Toof River mega display; a display inspired by the historical 1879 Battle of Isandlwana (British-Zulu War).

For more images of these miniatures, please visit the Praetorian Guard section of the Old Guard; a website dedicated to Games Workshop’s Warhammer 40K miniatures, with a focus on the classic range of Imperial Guard models from the 1990s.
