Valhallan Ice Warriors (Astra Militarum\Imperial Guard): Part 3

Hailing from the frozen Ice World of Valhalla, Valhallan Ice Warriors are a hardy breed of men and women, renown for their stoicism and dedication to the God-Emperor. Known for their courage and stubbornness, Valhallan Ice Warrior have a reputation of never retreating or surrendering, even when faced with overwhelming odds.

I finished painting reinforcements for my Valhallan Ice Warriors.  These miniatures represent Gunner Jurgen, a Valhallan Sentry Walker and a Valhallan Officer.  Gunner Jurgen is from Victoria Miniatures; the Sentry Walker is from Dust Tactics; and the Officer is an older Citadel Miniatures model (from the 1990s).

Commissar Ciaphas Cain and Gunner Ferik Jurgen

Gunner First-Class Ferik Jurgen.  From the Ciaphas Cain series of novels, Ferik Jurgen is Commissar Cain’s adjutant and loyal sidekick.  Jurgen joins Commissar Cain on his first assignment with the 12th Valhallan Field Artillery and remains alongside the Commissar during Cain’s later years, when Cain retires from active duty and serves as an instructor at the Schola Progenium on Perlia (a planet Cain and Jurgen liberated from an Ork occupation many decades before).  Jurgen is described as having poor hygiene (strong body odor), possessing a lack if interpersonal skills and suffers from a variety of skin conditions.  Despite this, Jurgen possesses a rare and powerful ability: he is a psychic blank.  Jurgen’s trademark weapon is a meltagun.
