The
Red Box: Eastern Adventures Companion Website has launched and could be found
through the following link: https://tasaka-games.com/redbox/
(the game itself will be release sometime in mid-2020).
Since
the previous post, I have created a few more digital drawings (using the graphics
tablet and digital pen) for the companion website and game.
The
above illustration shows a Greater Bakemono spellcaster (shugenja) ‘blasting’ a
hireling with magic.
Diversity
and inclusion are important in my artwork; thus, while Eastern Adventures is based
on Japanese folklore, the game itself is set in a fantasy world comprised of
people of different skin colours. Therefore,
I felt it important to illustrate the female ninja as a non-Asian person,
representing both the diversity of the game setting and the diversity of our
gaming community.
The
above illustration shows the backside of a Greater Bakemono warrior engaged in
combat against an Adventurer.
Red Box: Eastern Adventures is a rules light OSR game that builds on the simple
game play mechanics of White Box: Eastern Adventures, by added a few more
mechanics (‘crunch’) to the game. This system is inspired by, and aspires to
create, the Old School feel of the early iterations of the ‘World’s Most Famous
Role-Playing System’.
Tasaka Games is my humble one-person tabletop role-playing game company.
