Armageddon Steel Legion: Part 2 (Astra Militarum/Imperial Guard)

After taking bit of a hiatus from working on my ‘Old School’ metal Imperial Guard collection, I picked up the Armageddon Steel Legion squad I started working on a year ago (please see part 1).  I have painted one-half of the 10-man squad, which includes the Steel Legion Sergeant and four Guardsmen with lasguns.

It was important for me to give my Steel Legions Guardsmen a distinct look from those shown on the Games Workshop website. Therefore, I needed to select a colour scheme/pattern that will allow this to happen; while, at the same time, I wanted my Steel Legion troopers to look like they belonged to the physical environment of Armageddon (desert wastelands).  Thus, I choose a tri-coloured desert camouflage pattern.

Armageddon Steel Legion versus the heretical Sons of Sek

I was unhappy with the colours I choose for the weapons for my Sons of Sek warriors (please see previous post).  Therefore, I repainted the weapons.  The repainted Sons of Sek miniatures are shown in this blog post.

I am currently in the process of painting the remaining Steel Legion squad members (the rocket launcher team, grenade launder specialist and 2 guardsmen with lasguns).  When completed, I will post these in the blog.
