The Death World
of Catachan has breed a hardy lot of men and women. The Catachan Jungle
Fighters are a product of their harsh environment; generations of survival and
natural selection have produced the fierce and deadly warriors who make up the
Catachan regiments.

Two
of my most favourite metal Catachan Jungle Fighters sculpts are the female grenade
launcher trooper and the metal gun specialist.
I have showcased painted versions of these miniatures in the previous
posts of this series (please see part 1 and part 2). Fortunately, I had another blister package
containing these figures; thus, I had the opportunity to paint these miniatures
again. I wanted these miniatures to have
a distinct look from the previous grenade launcher and metal gun specialists I
painted; yet, I wanted these miniatures to appear as they belonged to the same
Catachan unit as the previous figures.
So, I selected a different combination of the same colour patterns I used
for my previous Jungle Fighters.

The
metal Catachan Jungle Fighters were first introduced in 1994, when Games
Workshop departed from the ‘generic’ Rogue Trader era Imperial Guardsmen
miniatures to Imperial Guard miniatures themed around the Imperial Worlds these
regiments were drawn from. The Catachan
Jungle Fighters were sculpted by veteran Citadel Miniatures sculptor Michael Perry.
For
more images of these miniatures, please visit the Catachan Jungle Fighters section
of the Old Guard; a website dedicated to Games Workshop’s Warhammer 40K
miniatures, with a focus on the classic range of Imperial Guard models from the
1990s.
