Illusionists are a specialized type of magic-user, who specializes in confusing and deceiving unwary victims through illusionary magic. Like magic-users, illusionists are vulnerable at lower levels and are dependant on their heavily armoured party members for protection in combat. As illusionists progress in level, they become more powerful, by accessing higher levels spells. Humans and gnomes are the only two playable races in the Advanced Edition Companion that can be illusionists.

A new iteration of the Labyrinth Lord Advanced Companion Illusionist Character Generator Version 2 has launched, and is available on Adventurer’s Portal, a fan sited dedicated to Goblinoid Games’ Labyrinth Lord Advanced Companion role-playing game. The updated Illusionist Character Generator includes more options for customizing the randomly generated character; these new features includes randomly generated character names, optional starting ages, and the use of drop-down menus to customize individual ability scores.
