Squats, classified as Homo Sapiens Rotundus, are the descendants of early human settlers to mineral-rich high gravity worlds around the galactic core. Due to the conditions of these worlds, the Squats, over millennia, evolved into a short, stocky, and hardy species of Abhumans, standing on average 1.4 meters tall. Few Squats remain in the galaxy today, as their worlds were destroyed by an unnamed Tyranid fleet.
In the previous posts of this series, I have been building and painting Wargames Atlantic Einherjar (Space Dwarves) miniatures that I have used as proxies for Warhammer 40K Squats. The Einherjar box set contains the components to build a total of 24 miniatures; I divided these miniatures up into four groups of 6 figures and painted each group with a distinct camouflage pattern. In part 1, I painted a group of Squats in a winter camouflage pattern; in part 2, I painted the Squats in a woodland/jungle camouflage pattern; and in part 3, I painted the Squats in a desert camouflage pattern. I have completed the last group of Squats, which I have painted in an urban camouflage pattern.

Wargames Atlantic, a U.K. based 28mm wargames miniatures company, produces a set of science fiction dwarves: The Death Fields Einherjar. The Einherjar box set contains eight identical sprues, which allows you to build a total of 24 miniatures (three figures per sprue). Each sprue includes 13 head options and several weapon options allowing you to add variety to your troops.
The Old Guard: An Astra Militarum/Imperial Guard Fan Site is a website dedicated to Games Workshop’s Warhammer 40K universe, with a focus on the classic range of Imperial Guard miniatures of old (the second edition of the game).
