The Character Funnel is a unique feature of the Dungeon Crawl Classics role-playing system; it the starting point of every new DCC campaign. In the Character Funnel, a band of lowly zero-level peasants, armed only with the tools from their humble occupations, sets off on an adventure to prove that they are worthy of being called Adventurers. Most will perish on this first adventurer, but those few who do survive will earn the right of choosing a character class (unless they are Dwarves, Elves or Halflings, in which case their race become their class), and start new lives as First Level Characters

The newest iteration of the DCC Zero-Level Character Generator (version 3) has launched, and is available on Dwarves, Warriors & Mighty Deeds and the Fantastic Adventures & the Disgruntled Gong Farmer Companion Site; two fan sites dedicated to Goodman Games’ Dungeon Crawl Classics game. As a way of capturing the ‘Old School’ vibe of Dungeon Crawl Classics, I used a drawing tablet to illustrate the character sheets, replicating the ‘hand-drawn’ sketches found throughout the margins of past RPG books and character sheets. The Zero-Level Character Generator provides several options for customizing the randomly generated characters, providing options for generating zero-level characters with a greater degree of survivability (i.e. modified ability score die rolls; max hit points).
Zero-Level Character Sheet Version 3
Zero-Level Character Sheet. The Zero-Level Character Generator randomly generates four zero-level characters per sheet. Players typically use multiple zero-level characters for the character funnels; after all, character funnels are deadly, and only a handful of the level zero character who enter the funnel will survive.

Dwarves, Warriors and Mighty Deeds is dedicated to Goodman Games’ Dungeon Crawl Classics role-playing system. Dungeon Crawl Classics is a modern role-playing game that captures the ‘old school’ feel of the early iterations (1970s) of the ‘World’s Most Famous Role-Playing Game’.
Fantastic Adventures and the Disgruntled Gong Farmer Companion Website is a site dedicated to the third-party Dungeon Crawl Classics Adventure module of the same name and contains the following three adventures: The King’s Challenge, Kobolds Stole My Cat! and the Gong Farmer’s Revenge. This module is available for free (as a PDF) through DriveThru RPG.
