I
have completed a new batch of pencil-and-paper drawings for the Dungeon Crawl
Classics Eastern Adventures source book; a project I am currently working on. The source book builds on the DCC Eastern
Adventures campaign guide I wrote back in 2017, which is available on the DCC
Eastern Adventures website. The new illustrations feature drawings of
seven monsters that will appear in this book.
Hibagon
Hibagon. A species of large primates found in forests
and mountain ranges. Living in small
huntering and gathering communities, hibagon possess a stone age level of
technological development; hibagon are akin to the Western Sasquatch.
Ikko-Ikki
(human)
Ikko-Ikki. Ikko-Ikki are mobs of fanatical peasants, led
by a charismatic leader. While
individually weak, the shear size and fanaticism of the ikko-ikki makes them a
dangerous foe.
Karura
Karura. Karura are a species of bird-humanoids with
heads that resembles a bird of prey (i.e., a hawk or falcon). Karura have the same flight abilities as a
tengu, and face the same restriction when wearing armour.
Shojo
Shojo. Shojo are an aquatic species of humanoids
with a love for sake. Shojo often dwell
near human coastal villages, bartering items obtained from deep within the ocean
for sake and other alcoholic beverages.
Onihitokuchi
Onihitokuchi. Onihitokuchi are powerful one-eyed ogre-like
creatures with a love for human flesh.
Wakou
(human)
Wakou. Wakou are pirates, who stalk fishing vessels
and raid poorly defended coastal villages, seeking plunder and slaves.
Yamabushi
(human)
Yamabushi. Yamabushi, translating into ‘mountain
warrior’, are mystics who live lives as hermits high in the mountains. Yamabushi are skilled martial artists,
devoting their lives to study ‘The Way’.
